Ice Cold Crime LLC is a publishing company founded in 2009 in the Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota area. Its mission is to originate, translate, publish and promote Finnish fiction in the United States and other English speaking countries.
Based on the success of Nordic authors, such as Henning Mankell and Stieg Larsson, ICC believes that there is a market for Finnish crime fiction in the United States. Historically there has been very limited supply of Finnish fiction in the United States, but luckily for everyone from Finnish authors to US readers this is changing.
We like being the pioneers of this movement.
We believe that reading contemporary Finnish fiction would better enable the American readership to connect with the issues of modern Finland. Furthermore, we believe that the internet generation will be more interested in reading contemporary Finnish fiction than classical Finnish literature.
