Jarkko Sipilä

 Jarkko Sipilä is a Finnish author and journalist. He has been reporting Finnish crime news for MTV3 TV News and the Helsingin Sanomat newspaper for over 20 years. He has written 11 novels and co-wrote a TV- series “Detectives Don’t Sing” based on the Takamäki-books. The pilot episode drew almost a million Finnish viewers.

Helsinki Homicide: Against The Wall, the winner of the 2009 Finnish Crime Novel of the Year Award, was the first of Jarkko Sipilä's twelve Takamäki-novels to be translated into English. Vengeance, Nothing but the Truth, and Cold Trail have also been translated into English. Jarkko has also been translated into German and Italian.

Seppo Jokinen

Anja Snellman, one of Finland’s most popular contemporary authors, is the recipient of the prestigious Pro Finlandia Medal in 2007, and has published more than twenty novels, many of which have been translated. Pet Shop Girls is her first novel to appear in English.

Harri Nykänen

Harri Nykänen is a long-time crime journalist for the largest Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat, is now a full time author. Harri has written nearly 30 books and is best known for his Raid series.
While Nykänen's work has been translated into many languages,
Raid and the Blackest Sheep is the first of his novels to be published in English.

A series based on the Raid character has appeared on television in both Finland and select U.S. markets, and a Raid movie also appeared in Finnish theaters. Raid DVD is now available in the USA.


Harri won the Finnish Crime novel award of the year in 1990 and 2001. The latter award was for the Raid and Blackest Sheep novel, now published by Ice Cold Crime

Scott Stevenson

Scott Stevenson worked in New York and London for several global investment banks as well as boutique finance firms over the course of his 20-year career. A graduate of Kent School, he holds a BA from Vanderbilt University and an MBA (Finance) from the University of Chicago.

He left the banking world shortly before the financial crisis and now lives in Tennessee with his wife and two children.

Jari Tervo

Jari Tervo, a native of Lapland, is one of the most prominent and popular names in Finnish literature. The former reporter has gained a national reputation for his critically-acclaimed novels and as a television personality. Jari has an inimitable style and voice, much admired by critics. The public knows him as an omniscient quiz show guest and sardonic commentator on current events, and also follows his literary output with appreciation and admiration. Jari received the award for Finland’s Best Crime Novel in 2000, and he has been repeatedly on top of the Finnish best seller lists ever since.

Reijo Mäki

Reijo Mäki's humor filled and witty Vares novels have made him one of Finland's most popular authors; 9 of the 26 in Vares series have been made into movies.
 Mäki has also written 10 other novels.
Mäki's The Sheriff won Finland's Crime Novel of the Year award in 2012.
